Company news: With effect from January 2006, Holland Boat Atlantic BV, the makers of the renowned Atlantic range of Motoryachts, will be taken over by Henk Jan Watersporttechniek and will be built and marketed under the name of Atlantic Yachtbuilders BV. There will be no change in the high quality workmanship and finish of the craft as the new owners of the marque are the same company that, for the last fifteen years, has been responsible for the entire technical installation of the boats built in Workum, Netherlands. Throughout the marine industry, the name Atlantic is synonymous with high quality and exceptional residual values. The Office and Factory will remain in the same location and it is hoped that by a marriage of advanced building techniques together with the traditional skills already seen in the existing boats and by moulding them on site, not only can the build quality be controlled to the highest standard throughout all areas of the production but it is hoped that it will be possible to improve delivery times and perhaps even to reduce the cost of the finished boats. Current plans are to introduce a new 38 model and to make the 38 and 40 in particular more accessible to the first time Atlantic owner. The range currently includes 42, 460, 50 and the flagship 60-foot models. Atlantic Motoryachts will continue to be marketed in the UK by Imperial Motor Yachts. Michael Miller, the Managing Director of Imperial said ‘We are confident that there will be no reduction in the high build quality of Atlantics and look forward to an exciting year ahead. By working more closely with Henk Jan and his team of dedicated craftsmen it is hoped that we will be introducing new models in the near future. I am confident that by having all the areas of production on one site we can build an even better product than that for which we are already well known. We all join in wishing our colleague Eddy Huis in’t Veld a long and happy retirement which will be effective from the middle of the year after a six month handover period to Henk Jan’. |
