Product news:
Jets Marivent, the UK and Eire's sole importers of BRP products, are launching the new range of Evinrude® E-TEC™ marine protection systems at the London Boat Show. The two professional systems, which are both fully waterproof and specifically designed with marine applications in mind, are customised for use on any outboard engine, including the award-winning Evinrude® E-TEC™ range.
The number of boats and outboard engines which are stolen annually is increasing rapidly, whilst the current recovery rate for outboard engines is below 2%. With this in mind, the marine protection systems have been designed to meet the most immediate market demands.
The first of the two new products is the remote controlled compact alarm system. It features waterproof remote control keys and is surprisingly compact, fitting discreetly onto the smallest boat or dinghy. The internationally CE compatible model offers basic protection with a 106dB siren, which activates if attempts are made to unhook the engine. It also displays the status of the alarm with an audio and visible confirmation, allowing the owner to arm the system from a distance.
The remote controlled compact alarm also features a smart electronic 'tow away' sensor, which is able to identify a false alarm such as that caused by extreme weather conditions or a dramatic change in tide whilst continuing to keep your boat safe.
The second product is the satellite localisation and control system, a top of the range marine specific alarm system which offers maximum protection.
As well as offering basic protection, this highly advanced system boasts satellite tracking and status supervision. In the case of an alarm activation, the owner can receive a message themselves, either to their mobile phone or landline, and the remote engine cut off allows control of the craft from a distance in the case of theft.
Both protection systems are energy efficient. As well as sporting a reserve battery, the remote controlled compact alarm can be set to 'sleep mode', where the disarmed system will use just 0.3mA, and 5.5mA when armed. The satellite localisation and control system features a built-in, long life back-up battery, so owners can rest assured that their boat and engine are well protected at all times.
