Awards news:
The Chairman of Europe’s premier boat sales organisation, Brian Peters, has been awarded an OBE in the New Year’s Honours. His award was for services to business and the community.
Brian served 26 years as a special constable in the West Sussex police force rising to Chief Superintendent and is currently Vice President of the Army Benevolent Fund, with his involvement, until their recent move, with the RMP at Roussillon Barracks. For many years Brian has been a leading sponsor of the Chichester Festival Theatre, particularly the summer season productions. He is also involved with the local courts as a JP.
Brian is Chairman of National Boat Shows which hosts the London and Southampton Boat Shows attracting some 350,000 visitors each year, and Vice President of the British Marine Federation, the trade organisation of 1500 members which contributes Ł2 billion to the economy, 40% of which is export products and services.
Brian said of his award, “I am naturally extremely delighted to be awarded with this honour which I also accept on behalf of our industry, and indeed, the community in and around Chichester, both of which I am proud to serve.”
