Wild Oats and Alfa Romeo continue to charge for Hobart, with both currently showing a speed over the ground of 17.3 knots. They are, however, going to have to put a spurt on if they are to break Nokia’s record 1999 run. At present, the leader Wild Oats is some 50 miles down on the position Nokia had achieved at the same hour of the race.
The battle to get into the first 10 continues, with Seriously 10 and Chieftain both 341 miles from Hobart and Living Doll and ABN AMRO also still level pegging with 343 miles to go.
