BMF news: With the new RCD amendment fully in force from 1 January 2006, BMF Technical Service will be holding a 2-hour workshop on Monday 9 January at the London Boat Show to review the issues related to sound emission and to discuss with boatbuilders and importers the relevant methods for showing compliance. The workshop is a must for boatbuilders who need to have boats assessed for sound emission and will enable a decision to be made on the most appropriate method of assessment or testing for individual cases. Importers are also recommended to attend the workshop if they import boats of a type that are required to be assessed or have not yet been assessed by the manufacturer. The workshop will be repeated on the same day depending on demand - to reserve a place contact Carole Abel at cabel@britishmarine.co.uk as soon as possible.
