Boat builder news: Walker Bay Boats Inc. launched its new line of performance RIBs and inflatables: Genesis and Odyssey to top tier dealers and media at an event near Fort Myers Florida, the second week of December. President of Walker Bay Boats, Andrew Taylor said, “We received excellent reviews and a strong indication from seasoned industry experts that our product does have more to offer than other RIBs and inflatables in the same category.” The event was held over three days at the Sanibel Harbour Resort on Sanibel Island in Florida. Representatives from 25 top-tier dealer locations throughout the US and Canada attended the event and, after experiencing the product for themselves, all 25 committed to carrying the new line. The general consensus amongst dealers was that the boats offered a lot of value added features that comparable boats just don’t have. Walker Bay is doing everything to make it easy for dealers to represent their new line with great incentive programs and customer support. The company plans to double the amount of dealer locations throughout the year in 2006. The latter part of the event was dedicated to the media, with representation from over a dozen publications. The media were given the opportunity to experience the entire line of boats in on-water trials and also to interview executives on the companies’ new direction. Pierce Hoover, Editor for Power Cruising Magazine said, “Genesis and Odyssey are impressive - the first new thinking in RIB & inflatables in quite some time.” Walker Bay will support its dealer network at the following boat shows with a manufacturer sponsored booth: New York, December 31, 2005 – January 8, 2006, Toronto, January 14-22, 2006, Seattle, January 6-14, 2006, Miami, February 16 – 20, 2006 and Los Angeles, January 28 – February 5, 2006. |
