Company news: ITT-Jabsco is pleased to announce it has signed an agreement with the American Company, Algae-X International, for the sale and distribution of Algae-X Fuel Maintenance and Management Systems, to the marine industry in Europe. Algae-X is a range of fuel conditioning equipment that optimises the performance and reliability of diesel engines. It is market leader in the US with an increasing number of high quality commercial and recreational boat builders installing Algae-X products as standard equipment on their vessels. It also is extremely popular with Charter Fleets, Sunsail for example, and individual boat owners. Modern engine designs have tighter tolerances and higher pressure injection systems that require optimal fuel quality at all times. Current production techniques produce fuels that are inherently unstable and have a natural tendency to form engine damaging solids and sediments. This process generates clusters of organic constituents, alphaltene, paraffin etc., which the average boat owner recognises as debris, clogging fuel filters and forming sludge in tanks. These symptoms are often misdiagnosed as “dirt or microbes” and consequently mistreated. Jabsco will now be able to offer Algae-X in Europe, as the most effective method of fuel quality optimisation, keeping tanks clean and protecting costly engines and injection systems. Additional benefits include enhanced combustion, reduced fuel consumption, lower emissions and less maintenance. Jabsco’s Managing Director, Mike Gill and Algae-X European Managing Director, Kees Dik will coordinate the launch of Algae-X systems in the UK and Germany. Initially Jabsco will introduce the new product range to boat builders at the forthcoming Boat Shows in London and Düsseldorf. |
