Boat builder news:

Following the world introduction of Fairline's newest Squadron at the 2005 Southampton Boat Show, Fairline Boats has announced that the Squadron 66 will make her German debut at the Dusseldorf Boat Show in January 2006.

This eagerly anticipated model will introduce owners to the spacious accommodation and sheer luxury available throughout the Fairline ranges.Reactions from both customers and press for the 66 have been astounding, with test reviews from leading international boating magazines praising the craftsmanship and performance of this beautiful yacht.

Priced from € 2.196.700 including 16% VAT with MAN 1100 CRM engines, the Squadron 66 boasts some of the strongest lines and design features to date, as well as the considerate detail and sound engineering that comes as standard on all Fairline models. She is deemed as the replacement to the influential Squadron 65 which ceased production in September 2002 following a successful run of eighty-two, and the recognition as Fairline's 10,000th boat.

Set to be another Fairline triumph, the Squadron 66 sold strongly off drawings prior to her launch and this has continued at international shows, including an additional eight confirmed sales at her debut show, the Southampton Boat Show. A testament to the undoubted merits of this model and of course Fairline's reputation.

Squadron 66 details

The feel of being on a large yacht is evident throughout the Squadron 66, which benefits from generous headroom, luxurious appointments and free standing furniture, not to mention a state-of-the-art lower helm station which incorporates a central 'feature' panel finished in stitched leather to contrast the innovative, hard-wearing leather flooring at the helm, galley and breakfast bar.

The main saloon is exceptional. Elegantly furnished with exquisite fabrics, a superb sideboard and a Bose (R) Home Cinema Surround Sound system with DVD/CD/Radio and 32” LCD television which can be cleverly viewed in its lowered or raised position. Accessed from the main saloon, the dining room features an elegant free-standing table that can seat six people comfortably and lies adjacent to the comprehensively equipped galley, which benefits from dedicated below counter fridge and freezers, dishwasher and contemporary cream lacquered cupboard doors. The galley utilises an island counter unit providing abundant space to prepare food or entertain guests.

The Squadron 66 has eight berths (with standard four-cabin layout option) or customers can select a dedicated 'office' option complete with an authentic (electrically operated) Pullman berth, providing customers with ultimate flexibility. The full-width master stateroom is incredibly spacious and benefits from triple portrait portholes and en-suite facilities, which include a shower with body jets and a dressing room with full height hanging space.

The forward stateroom continues the grand statements featuring an oversized double bed, bedside stowage and stainless steel opening portholes. There is also access to an en-suite shower room and twin full-height wardrobes.

The crew cabin offers up to two additional berths and has been designed along 'large yacht' principles. As a result the cabin can be accessed from the transom without disturbing the owner or other guests. This is available as a twin or double and an additional utility area with appliances may be specified.

Bryan Jones, Marketing Manager at Fairline Boats commented; “Our dedicated and experienced in-house design team has invested considerable time and effort ensuring that there is an unrivalled feeling of technological supremacy throughout the interior of the Squadron 66, and that the fabrics and furnishings create an ambience of the highest quality. The team has made sure once again that this Squadron offers nothing less than complete opulence for our discerning buyers.”

The flybridge is accessed via a broad teak staircase from the cockpit.

Features include a barbecue griddle, fridge, sink and icemaker as well as an excellent sound system, which extends to every level of the boat. The flybridge facilities and seating arrangements have also been carefully planned to ensure that guests and owners alike gain the best views whilst at sea, in perfect comfort and security.

The Squadron 66 can facilitate PWC storage in the garage at sea level if required, but a standard flybridge crane makes it easy to launch and recover shore transport of choice.

The exceptional finish of the Fairline Squadron is evident in the extensive attention to detail and pride of workmanship. The quality of all the appointments, as well as the fit and finish throughout the boat, is quite simply breathtaking.

The Fairline Squadron 66 is a fast but comfortable passage maker. Boasting speeds of up to 35 knots, she is available with a choice of engine packages.

Details of this stunning new Squadron can be obtained on the Fairline Stand E61 Hall 6 at Boot Dusseldorf Show 2006.
