Carlos 'Lua' Mauro:
You just give a quick look and there are the images. Everything that you passed goes away, vanishes into a place called past. The seven boats are getting out of the Vigo port right now, even a light rain has come to watch the start of the Volvo Ocean Race. The Australians made it after a last minute effort of fixing the communications apparatus and putting their name to the transom.
Everything is in the rearview mirror now, all the effort, investments, the nights without sleep, work, tests and more tests. Ahead lays 6400 miles of new images that soon will also be in the rearview mirror.
It’s up to the sailors now and it is everything that they dreamed of, in two more hours the definitions will start to delineate, in four more hours we will have the first rearview mirror image to show where we are heading to.
