Yachting Promotions-Gulf Inc, organisers of the St. Petersburg Boat Show, which was to have been held from November 17 to 20, have rescheduled it for Thursday, “due to the intensity of Hurricane Wilma.
The Miami Herald has another report this morning, on exhibitors’ views on holding the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. It quotes David Slikkers, chief executive of S2 yachts, as saying “The boat show is supposed to be a fun experience, and to go into a disaster zone - man, I don't know if I want to do that.'', Billy Smith, vice president of sales at Trinity Yachts – ''I think they're biting off more than they can chew.'' and Genmar chairman, Irwin Jacobs – “You're really taking the show down a few notches - if not a lot - by forcing it now."
