Cathy Mclean In June 2004, the BoatsYachtsMarinas website was one of 140 Gibraltar companies whose sites were hacked and its archive of News stories lost. At that time, the site was top of the Alexa rankings for European boating industry news. In order to quickly reinstate the service, it was transferred to the BYM News name, a domain that - at that time - was unused and thus had no ranking. Having monitered the four leading industry on-line News Service rankings, throughout August, I am very pleased to announce that BYM has regained its top Alexa position and is now number one, not just in Europe, but throughout the world. The website rankings this Sunday were: BYM News Sunday 33,125 One week 53,838 3 months 172,299 (Up 1,188,305) Boating Industry Sunday Not ranked One week 148,541 3 months 156,413 (Up 22,936) Trade Only Today Sunday Not ranked One week 229,354 3 months 310,573 (Down 112,144) IBI News Sunday Not ranked One week 774,750 3 months 455,027 (Up 351,838) BYM is also a very clear leader where the average number of pages viewed by each visitor is concerned. On Sunday, the Alexa figures for page views per visitor, over the last three months were: BYM News 27.8, IBI News 3.3, Boating Industry 2.2, Trade Only Today 2.0.
