BYM News has learned that Captain Chris Jones stated in a phone call, shortly after the grounding of the Land's End, that the First Officer had been on the bridge at the time of the incident, which appeared to be a navigational error.

Bad weather, notably a 1.5 metre swell has delayed the operation to pump out the vessels 70 cubic metres of fuel, but an improvement yesterday permitted pumping tests to be successfully carried out and the main pumping equipment should be in place later today.

The weather improvement allowed divers to make a further technical investigation concerning the eventual plugging of holes and raising of the yacht.
