Press release:
A new mooring site has opened on the Grand Union Canal in Brentford.
British Waterways are offering serviced non-residential berths for narrowboats at £3,750 a year.
The 29 berths were installed as part of a new housing development on the site of British Waterways’ Brentford Depot and are all supplied with water and electricity., Showers, laundry and toilet facilities, rubbish disposal, a water point and a new pump-out and ‘elsan’ station will also be available in a new facilities building currently being built. This is due to be completed in the autumn, with temporary facilities available until then.
Five more residential moorings were also granted planning permission as part of the development and have already been taken by people on British Waterways’ moorings waiting list.
Matthew Bannister, British Waterways’ mooring coordinator for West London commented: “Brentford has great transport links into and out of London and boaters’ facilities and amenities are getting better every year. This is also the perfect base from which to explore the River Thames, Grand Union Canal and Regent’s Canal by boat.”
If you wish to apply for a non-residential berth, contact Matthew Bannister at British Waterways London, Freepost WDB 675, London, W2 6BR and include a photograph and dimensions of your boat. |
