Press release:
The new ICS NAV-7 has all of the facilities required to provide high quality reception of NAVTEX messages in accordance with SOLAS regulations.
Suitable for all vessels required by legislation to fit a GMDSS NAVTEX receiver, the ICS NAV-7 paperless NAVTEX receiver is ideal for fitting by all commercial ships, large yachts, tugs, workboats and any vessel that wishes to voluntarily comply with the SOLAS convention.
ICS NAV-7 supports reception of all three IMO NAVTEX frequencies and provides simultaneous dual channel monitoring of two channels. The 518 KHz English language service is always in view and either 490 KHz national language or 4209.5 KHz long range services can be selected and viewed at the same time.
Message text is clearly displayed on a large daylight viewable colour LCD screen. This offers paper white message presentation and the very best clarity under all light conditions due to the adjustable backlight feature. The product is simple to use; coloured headings clearly identify message category types and give quick and easy identification of the message content. The powerful automatic sorting feature allows messages to be viewed on screen and sorted by channel, station ID, message category or age. An indexed message listing page allows for quick searching and direct access to full message text.
ICS NAV-7 fully meets the requirements for a paperless GMDSS NAVTEX receiver according to IMO Resolution MSC.148(77) A.2.1. It supports interface connection of Integrated Navigation System (INS) or Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS) and connection of hardcopy printer. Antenna options include a two band active antenna optimised to provide high quality reception of all recognised NAVTEX channels.
The ICS NAV-7 range includes an OEM unit for bridge integration.
